34th Colloquium on Pensions and Retirement Research
2 - 3 December 2026 

The 34th Colloquium on Pensions and Retirement Research will be held at UNSW Sydney on 2-3 December 2026.

Co-hosted by the Centre for Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) and the School of Risk & Actuarial Studies at UNSW Business School, the Colloquium brings together academics (in economics, finance, actuarial studies, and related fields), government and industry to discuss cutting-edge research on pensions, superannuation, and retirement.

Call for Papers

Submissions are specifically invited on the following topics: 

  • AI in superannuation/retirement (use cases, challenges & best practices in industry & academia) 

  • Retirement income products/strategies 

  • Aged care/long-term care (financing, policy & system sustainability) 

  • Pensions and population ageing in Asia and other markets 

We also welcome contributions on other pensions and retirement topics, including:  

  • Financial decision-making support, including advice, nudges & AI/digital tools 

  • Financial literacy & education 

  • Cognitive decline & financial decision-making 

  • Longevity & healthy ageing 

  • Home equity release in retirement planning 

  • Elder financial vulnerability/abuse 

  • Climate risks in superannuation/pensions & retirement planning 

  • Investment and portfolio management in superannuation/pensions 

  • Equity & fairness in superannuation/pensions 

  • Regulation, taxation & governance of superannuation/pension funds 

  • Public pensions & fiscal sustainability  

  • Superannuation/pensions & labour markets 

 

Early career researchers and research students (PhD, Masters, Honours) are especially encouraged to make a submission. A cash prize will be awarded for the ‘Best Student Presentation’.
