Modelling and managing mortality, morbidity, and aged care risks in retirement

This research stream aims to:

  • develop and apply sound actuarial models incorporating the impact of trends and uncertainty to the analysis of long-term care insurance and equity release products to integrate with the new Aged Care Act;
  • use Australian data to assess actuarial risks in retirement, project retirement risks and funding needs, develop innovative, cost effective and targeted private market retirement income, insurance and financing products for health, aged care and retirement income risks.
